The Connecticut Open’s mission is to leverage the excitement of world-class women’s tennis to benefit the community and maximize support for women’s, youth and military causes in Connecticut.
New HYTEs (New Haven Youth Tennis & Education) - a year-round tennis, education and mentoring program for inner city youth that is fully integrated into the CT Open via staff volunteerism and inclusion in tournament events and fundraising for 12 years. The annual USTA Foundation Clinic also results in a generous cash and equipment donation of $15,000 for New HYTEs.
Latino Day- in its 15th year, a CT Open clinic that has partnered Latino youth and families with WTA and Legends players for mentorship, coaching, and lunch followed by a day of tennis. The program has introduced scores of Latino youth to affordable tennis programs with New Haven Parks & Recreation.
