Thank you for your interest in joining our Volunteer team! The 2015 Connecticut Open, set for August 21-29 will feature live world class tennis during a weeklong festival of activities, booths, music and food.
NEW for 2015, the Connecticut Open Volunteers will be sponsored by AARP Connecticut! We are excited to welcome AARP to our team and together we look forward to providing you the opportunity to see all the action up close and get behind the scenes at one of the area's signature events all while giving back to your community as a Connecticut Open Volunteer!
As a Connecticut Open Volunteer you can choose from a wide variety of committees including Player Transportation, In-stadium Usher, Player Services, Media Center, Aetna FitZone, and General Volunteers for those who enjoy assisting with a wide variety of duties throughout the week. As a volunteer you will receive the following benefits:
Uniform- Two (2) tournament t-shirts and a hat. Volunteers provide khaki shorts or slacks to complement uniform.
Complimentary Tickets- Two (2) tickets with designated seat locations to three (3) early round sessions
- 2 Tickets to Sunday, August 23 (Session 1)
- 2 Tickets to Monday Day, August 24 (Session 2)
- 2 Tickets to Tuesday Evening, August 25 (Session 5)
Volunteers that commit to and complete ten (10) or more shifts by Friday, August 28 will receive an additional two (2) box seat tickets to the women's final on Saturday, August 29 (Session 12)
Weeklong credential with photo- access to stadium court and unlimited access to other tournament courts
Meal Coupons- For each shift worked. $11.00 per shift ($22.00 maximum per day)
Free Parking- Within walking distance from the tournament site on the days that you volunteer
Volunteer Celebration- Join us for breakfast or lunch following your Orientation on Saturday, August 15, 2015
In return we ask the following from you:
Must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer, however there are select opportunities for 16 and 17 year olds. Some areas require volunteers to be at least 21 years of age
Attend a mandatory training session on August 15 for your assigned volunteer area. You will be notified of the time of the training session when you receive your assign assignment
Volunteer a minimum of SIX (6) SHIFTS during the tournament. You may double up your shifs to commit to fewer days. Shift schedules vary by committee but a typical shift is 4.5-5 hours in length.
