"I'm really excited to play again in front of my hometown fans from Connecticut and be part of the first Connecticut Open Legends event." -two-time Connecticut Open Champion James Blake.
That's right...Blake is Back! Beyond a top notch women's field that will feature favorite WTA stars including Defending Champion and World No. 4 Simona Halep, four-time Champion Caroline Wozniacki, and rising star Genie Bouchard fans will get to enjoy men's tennis once again in New Haven. James Blake, Andy Roddick and Jim Courier, three of the best American tennis players in history, will participate in the first-ever Connecticut Open Legends event on Wednesday, August 20 (session 7) and Thursday, August 21 (session 9.)
See all the action up close and create your own legendary experience as a volunteer at the 2014 Connecticut Open. As a volunteer you can choose from a wide variety of volunteer committees
providing you with the chance to work behind the scenes and gain first hand experience at a professional sporting event. Volunteer opportunities include everything from transporting players to and from the site to assisting guests finding their seat location within the stadium to helping with a wide variety of duties throughout the week. For our college aged fans, volunteering is a great resume builder!
Since 1998, more than 400 volunteers each year have supported women's professional tennis right in their own backyard and given back to their local community as a volunteer, so don't wait any longer and sign up now to join in on all the legendary tennis at the 2014 Connecticut Open!
As a Volunteer you will receive the following amenities:
Uniform– Two (2) tournament t-shirts and a hat. Volunteers provide Khaki shorts or slacks to complement the uniform.
Complimentary Tickets – Two (2) tickets with designated seat locations to three (3) early round sessions.
- 2 Tickets to Sunday, August 17 (Session 1)
- 2 Tickets to Monday Day, August 18 (Session 2)
- 2 Tickets to Tuesday Evening, August 19 (Session 5)
Volunteers that commit to and complete ten (10) or more shifts by Friday August 22 will receive an additional two (2) tickets to the women's final on Saturday, August 23 (session 12)
Credential - Access to stadium court and unlimited access to other tournament courts
Meal Coupons- For each shift worked. $11.00 per shift ($22.00 maximum per day)
Free Parking - Within walking distance from the tournament site on the days that you volunteer.
Volunteer Celebration- Join us for breakfast or lunch following your Orientation on Saturday, August 9, 2014
Relevant event experience and community service hours
In return we ask the following commitment from you:
Must be at least 18 years of age to volunteer. Some areas require volunteers to be at least 21 years of age.
Attend a mandatory training session on Saturday, August 9 for your assigned volunteer area. You will be notified of the time of the training session when you receive your area assignment.
Volunteer a minimum of SIX (6) SHIFTS during the tournament. You may double up your shifts to commit to fewer days.
Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Registration for the 2014 tournament is no longer available. Please check back in the spring of 2015 to register for the 2015 Connecticut Open.
