New Haven, Conn – Connecticut Open presented by United Technologies announces two new sponsors for 2017. The tournament has added philanthropic companies Clear Fin Clothing, LLC and Bombas as the official apparel sponsor and official sock provider, respectively. The uniforms will be provided to volunteers, ball kids and officials. “We are delighted to welcome two charitable organizations as new sponsors for the Connecticut Open,” said Anne Worcester, tournament director, Connecticut Open presented by United Technologies. “Beyond providing premium products, it was important for us to partner with companies that share in our non-profit mission to have a positive impact on the community.”

Clear Fin Clothing, LLC
Clear Fin Clothing joins the Connecticut Open as the official apparel sponsor and will supply uniforms for ball kids, volunteers and officials. Furthermore, guests can purchase Clear Fin merchandise in the Pro Shop during the tournament. Beginning as a small dorm-room operation, Clear Fin, founded by Vincent Senerchia, has blossomed into an athletic apparel powerhouse providing exceptional, innovative products at an affordable price – while simultaneously raising awareness to protect sharks and the ocean. As the official apparel sponsor, Clear Fin is afforded a prominent platform to boost brand recognition in a target market while taking a major step towards building a universally-known philanthropic athletic brand. Bombas
New-York based Bombas is now the official sock of the Connecticut Open. Its unique name, derived from the Latin word for bumblebee, is symbolic of its mission to work together like bees and make the “hive” a better place. Founded in 2013 after discovering socks are the most requested clothing item in homeless shelters, Bombas donates a pair of socks for every pair sold. To date, more than 2 million pairs of socks have been provided to those in need, and Bombas is contributing 500 more to both a New Haven and Hartford organization as part of its sponsorship. These socks are specifically designed for a longer life span, featuring reinforced seams; darker colors and an anti-microbial treatment for infrequent washing. The company’s proprietary SockTech design has substantially improved the comfort, performance and design of a traditional sock and they will be worn prominently by all ball kids throughout the tournament.
