Monday, August 20



The Steve Atwood Band plays classic rock, and has performed at venues throughout the New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts area for over fifteen years. Steve Atwood, the singer and rhythm guitarist, has an occupation that links him on a daily basis with faculty members, administration, and students throughout Yale School of Medicine. Two other members, Len Kaczmarek and Pete Smith, are faculty members at the medical school. Smith, an associate professor of comparative medicine, plays drums. Kaczmarek, who is the lead guitarist, is a professor of pharmacology and cellular and molecular physiology. In earlier days, his band opened for Eric Clapton and also played at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The bass guitar player, Dean Falcone, is local professional musician who recently toured with Juliana Hatfield.


The Citations 



An amalgamation of future scientists, doctors, and lawyers, The Citations is the official a cappella group of graduate and professional schools at Yale University, with sponsorship by the McDougal Graduate Student Center. Their evolving repertoire includes a variety of genres: jazz standards like Ain’t Misbehavin’ (Fats Waller) and At Last (Etta James), as well as diverse popular music including arrangements of Sia, Queen, and James Taylor. The Citations regularly perform at "the tables down at Mory’s," graduate and professional school events, and private engagements including weddings and cocktail parties.


The Citations will be performing the National Anthem on Stadium Court during the Opening Night Ceremony!

Known for performing with an intensely raw passion and conviction, Canyon.'s catchy acoustic melodies will cut deep enough to hit a nerve.  Performing with an acoustic guitar and often accompanied by cello and percussion, her songs will keep your ears guessing while her masterfully written lyrics unfold.  Winner of the 2015 CT Music Awards "Song Of The Year" for her song 'Slow' and nominated for "Best Singer/Songwriter" in the 2016 CT Music Awards, Canyon. is poised to make a name for herself in the music world.

Dave Kardas Band


The Dave Kardas Band returns to the Connecticut Open Stage for the 6th time. DKB plays all kinds of music, Rock, R&B, Funk, Blues, Reggae and Jazz. DKB plays dates from New Haven to Brooklyn and has also appeared on WTNH New Haven and Toads Place. We play to the crowd and look forward to rocking out the Connecticut Open this year.
