The Steve Atwood Band plays classic rock, and has performed at venues throughout the New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts area for over fifteen years. Steve Atwood, the singer and rhythm guitarist, has an occupation that links him on a daily basis with faculty members, administration, and students throughout Yale School of Medicine. Two other members, Len Kaczmarek and Pete Smith, are faculty members at the medical school. Smith, an associate professor of comparative medicine, plays drums. Kaczmarek, who is the lead guitarist, is a professor of pharmacology and cellular and molecular physiology. In earlier days, his band opened for Eric Clapton and also played at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The bass guitar player, Dean Falcone, is local professional musician who recently toured with Juliana Hatfield.
